WEEK 2 REFLECTION

This week, we were introduced to Mahatma Gandhi's famous quote "Be the change you wish to see in the world". We were introduced to the idea that changing your inner self and actions, will change the world eventually. Others leaders believed in this philosophy as well, including Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr. and Christ, and others. We learned about the history of social change, and how new methods aid in old social issues.      There were many areas that sparked my interest this week. Creating social change has been around for a very long time, I particularly enjoyed learning that no one answer is wrong or no one answer is completely right. Solutions to world issues are easily fixed. Force equality can lead to great inequality. I especially enjoyed the Ted Talk "Inside the Mind of a College Social Innovator".  This video made me hopeful seeing the different college students with backgrounds and majors that were not particularly social innovation majors we...

W01 Reflection

     This week, was a great introduction to Social Innovation and the impact it can make on the world around us. Problems arise in the world, and people dedicate their lives to finding solutions and even their passion for work. We were introduced to the film "Ambition" where we were introduced to the impact Social Entrepreneurship has on the world. The Film is inspiring and we can see firsthand the people who take social issues and make it their life's mission to find changes. It is inspiring because as students and viewers you can see the lives that are being changed and affected by social Entrepreneurship work. Social Innovation is defined as the result of the intentional work of people trying to make positive change happen by addressing these complex problems at the roots as seen in the "What is Social Innovation?" video.
