Week 13 Reflection
I like reading the Church's literature and viewpoint on social innovation. I am convinced that the Church is dedicated to helping, assisting, and guiding those that are underprivileged. This is a great example of what Christ has done while living on earth. Being a disciple leader appeals to me since it offers both temporal and eternal happiness. A disciple leader involves a number of stages and challenges that we must face in order to grow and help others with our expertise, abilities, and skills. There is great reassurance that realizing that God is always at our side, guiding us and letting us know how we can contribute to His work and be the people He expects us to be.
When we develop and grow in discipleship and leadership we can utilize it in different ways, a great example is social innovation. "Come to Zion," Elder D. Todd Christofferson's lecture, reminded me that the Lord will summon His servants to Zion "because they will be of one heart and one mind and dwelt in righteousness."1 For me, social innovation is a path to take in order to improve ourselves and construct Zion. Because the entire aim of social innovation is to care for, love, and assist our brothers and sisters by improving their lives. We can contribute to God's effort by filling Zion with better, more faithful, more righteous individuals.
After completing this course, I believe I am capable of making the world a better place, and my environment. I am confident that God's Gospel will be a valuable tool and guidance in my pursuit of righteousness and service possibilities. To meet my social innovation goals, I plan to work hard to acquire the skills that a spiritual leader should have in order to do outstanding things in God's eyes. I am happy for the opportunity to take this course in order to broaden my understanding and perspectives in order to better myself and my environment.
