Week 7 Reflection

This was one of my favorite weeks of studying Social Innovation. We got to present our social category and I presented on Social Business: EveryTable. I was grateful for the topic I was assigned because it was near and dear to my heart. It's a social issue that I'm very interested in, it is aiming to solve the social issue caused by Food Deserts. Which happens to be the social issue I have chosen for this semester.

The article "A Better Way to Think About Your Business Model" contained one particular point that particularly stood out to me. According to Alezander Osterwalder, "The business model canvas — as opposed to the traditional, intricate business plan — helps organizations conduct structured, tangible, and strategic conversations around new businesses or existing ones." He continued by listing a few businesses that genuinely employ this business strategy. I was motivated to consider the kind of business I want to launch in the future, and Alexander's examples made it a lot simpler for me to do so.

No matter what you're doing, whether you're establishing a business or already running one. It is always beneficial to develop and improve your business skills. I believe that marketing your business and products is one of the most crucial skills to have while running your own company. In order to sell your product, you must also be able to keep a customer's attention regardless of the subject. Maintaining a balanced income statement so that you can always know the situation of your business is another essential skill to always be working on developing.
